Hello, this is Leslie Malin, I am delighted that you have come to Just Think’n.
What will you find here? A diverse menu of offerings from myself as well as from writings, video and audio from a selection of other thought leaders. Some of these guest writers and contributors are my personal friends and colleagues. Others provide content, expertise and opinions that I find fascinating, provocative, educational and entertaining. If you like to be exposed to a rich assortment of ideas, resources and tools to optimize your life and work, I hope you find Just Think’n a meaningful contribution.
Are the following questions important to you?
Who am I now? Who do I yearn to become? What do I have to offer that can add meaning, perhaps even make a difference?
These are the questions I ask myself. Sometimes I get answers I can work with and other times, well not so much. However, given my 30 plus years of experience in human growth and development; as a practicing psychotherapist for that many years; as well as a Life/Career Transition Coach (which encompasses life stage issues, job loss, aging, retirement, and Emotional Intelligence skills) as well as Health Coaching – I have accumulated some wisdom along the way.
I look forward to sharing my current pursuits and knowledge with you. As well as the wisdom of others.
Have you discovered, as I have, that even if I get flummoxed in trying to set up websites, for instance, I can hire great people to help me achieve my dreams! My personal experience has taught me that I can read all the self-help books in the world, but they are not a substitute for a great psychotherapist! I can devour books and training programs about setting up WordPress or dieting, but that doesn’t necessarily provide me with the expertise, guidance and know-how to attain my goals.
What self-directed learning does provide is a great foundation for identifying and choosing the experts, programs or schooling that will get you where you want to go. Making informed decisions calls for being an educated consumer.
To successfully negotiate life’s trials entails a 5-step process. Much of what you will find on these pages will address these steps:
#1 Accept that life is always changing and no amount of fighting or denying will change that fact.
#2 Assess and evaluate where you currently are in the 4 aspects of your life:
a. Self-Awareness, Self-Knowledge: Coming to terms with your life as it is now, and determining who you want to be going forward
b. Work/Career/Avocation: Are these aspects of your life aligned with who you really are…or want to be?
c. Relationships – past and present: Coming to terms, letting go, forgiveness lets us move on
d. Spiritual– moving from the head to the heart: A necessary transition as we move through life’s seasons.
#3 Determine which areas continue to provide meaning and satisfaction and acknowledge others that no longer serve you.
#4 Develop a life continuum plan aimed towards full engagement. Without a plan you won’t know where you’re going, how to get there,or even if you’ve arrived!
#5 Implement new strategies, learn new skills, expand your curiosity, find your passion, be on-purpose. That’s life. It’s meant to be lived full out.
I hope Just Think’n will add to your self-knowledge as well as curiosity as it becomes another companion in getting you to where you want to go. Perhaps you’ll even find a path less traveled.
